How far is Matlai from Zanzibar Airport?
About 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes by private car. Your butler helps you arrange it with the local agencies and drivers we work with — send your flight details on WhatsApp. You can settle it by card at the hotel.
Can you swim at low tide?
The lagoon in front holds water better than most of the east coast, and both villa pools are always there. At low tide the lagoon empties toward the Mchanga sandbank — the walk out is an experience of its own.

Do you offer airport transfers?

One family idea, fourteen years old
Asili House opened in May 2012; Villa Kidosho answered in 2015; the room count stopped at six and never moved. The founders steer from Germany, the general manager lives on the property, and more than forty staff carry the arithmetic that makes the reviews read the way they do — 4.9 on TripAdvisor across 371+ stays, every single one answered. Small was never the compromise here — it was the entire plan, and it still is. The land around the villas could hold more rooms tomorrow; the answer stays no, because every room added would subtract exactly the thing the first six were built to protect: a beach where your footprints last until the tide, not until the next sunbed.
